International Cat Show "RosCoshnaya osen' v Posade" - 15-16 of October 2011

On 15-16 of October we have been at a cat show “RosCoshnaya Osen’ v Posade”, which took place not far from Moscow in a town of Sergiev Posad.

At first we had a crazy thought to come back home after the first day of the show. But soon we understood that we overestimated our strength and so we had found some brave person whom we could leave with all our animals (huge thanks to this person once again!). So we didn’t have to return home on Saturday and used the opportunity to fully enjoy an “out-of-home-city” show.

We decided to have a good sleep before the show (at this point it’s already “ha-ha-ha!” because it’s impossible for us anyway). I expected we wouldn’t be able to fall asleep earlier on Friday cause the last few weeks we used to go to sleep very late. So I decided to prepare us: we needed to wake up earlier on Thursday and on Friday to fall asleep early on Friday night. In fact it turned out that we had so much to do on Friday that we could go to sleep only at 2:30 am on Saturday morning. And to wake up at 5 am. But lack of sleep didn’t stop us from enjoying the show!)))

From all of our friends we were the first to arrive, so we had to take free seats. I went to the show hall with the cats, saw a free table which had very convenient location – you could see both judging and WCF rings from the same spot. I took the tables and sat there being very glad with myself. Then Lena, who passed vet control, came up: “Don’t the papers on the tables with “Thai Cats” written on them bother you?” Oops!.. Shame on me! :) But the second place that we found was very good too.

Soon our wonderful children with their wonderful owners arrived. Great thanks to Artem who for some reason went to go pay for the hotel at once (though I was assured while booking a room by the phone that we can come to the hotel in the evening after the show). It turned out that there was no room reserved for us despite that I called and confirmed it two times (and they even have a record about it). So the last room was found for us, and thanks to Artem we didn’t have to sleep in the street :)

There’s no need to say about organization – it’s what RosCosh has always been good at. Everything was right in time and at six o’clock in the evening everybody is free to go. Great respect to Marina Litvina and Elena Anatolievna Lazareva for patient answers on stupid questions (a kind of “Where did RosCosh banners with the pictures of our cats go? We’d like to take photos of them!”). And Olga Shulakova is the head stuard from above!

Our children Bjork & Marley came to the show. And we went with Tosha and Johnny. I had a great pleasure of communication with my boys! I was very happy that we can give them some more attention without the rest of our pride. I was amazed by Tosha’s behaviour earlier at spring show “Sodruzhestvo”. So he presented himself with calm and dignity in Sergiev Posad too. However, he slept most of the time, of course. But also he didn’t mind to lay near an open cage exit – simply to communicate with us. Johnny felt relaxed and comfortable everywhere: in a cage, in a hotel room, on a judge table. Wonder boy with so amazing temperament! Such a pleasant sight! I adore my boy and I’m proud of him :) As Ms.Louise Guezennec said: “When they are good – they are good! No matter, it’s their first show or not.”

On the first day our cats were judged by Marina Litvina. Bjork, Marley and Tosha made us happy with their calm behaviour and got many kind words from the judge. Johnny has received many complements too and showed the whole beauty of his temperament (and himself). He was soooo enjoying the show on the table, that Marina even wrote in “Common impression”: «Toady!» :)

Then adult WCF ring took place. As a tradition on RosCosh shows participation in rings was for free. So there were all adult cats of the show – 69 totally!

Louise Guezennec intrigued us by saying very little about Tosha. On the other hand she said many good words about Johnny and Bjork – their coat, balance, temperament. She said that this kind of eye colour you can rarely meet from European Burmese. She took Johnny first and then Bjork and recognized her as Johnny’s sister at once.

After 69 cats have visited judges table, the 10 best ones were announced. It was an honor that Tosha was among them. And twice as honor that he took the fourth place!

As we didn’t have to go back to Moscow, we had an opportunity to celebrate our victory a little at the show.

There was a huge amount of visitors. Over than 3.5 thousands of people (plus children!) have visited the show within two days. It seemed that the whole town came to see our cats. Vasilisa – little owner of Bjork – was starring near our show cages. She was telling visitors about Burmese breed and its features, showing Bjork and letting to take photos of her. We thank future felinologist for presenting our breed to the minds of Sergiev Posad citizens :) Although any attempts to pet the cat were stopped – strictly but politely. When Vasilisa was busy (participating in a show of autumn cats or in a lottery from the sponsor Sanabelle or in RosCosh all-prize lottery), she had to leave her audience on Marina – her Mom – or us.

At the end of the day it was announced that Tosha, Bjork and Marley were nominated for Best In Show, where Tosha became the best shorthair male – got Best Opposite Sex. There were presents added to the victory and, what’s important, the most beautiful cup! :)

Being very happy and more than satisfied we bought some tasty stuff in a grocery store located in the same building and went to the hotel to celebrate :)

In a hotel room Johnny ran over beds like a crazy squirrel. Unfortunately we don’t have photos of that because we were deadly tired by that moment. But, believe me, he was really wild! Tosha aristocratically stepped aside from this craziness. In the neighbour room Vasilisa jumped on the bed :) They were happy and joyful.

After our improvised banquet and drinking champagne from our victory cups we were very happy to go to our room and fall asleep holding our precious boys. Sometimes it’s a dream come true – just to sleep :)

Sunday started with a tasty breakfast which we had chosen from a menu the night before in our hotel. It was ready exactly by the time we ordered it. Sunday judging was scheduled for the afternoon, so we enjoyed our breakfast without a hurry, packed and came to the show by 10 am.

We were lucky that Neuter ring in which Marley participated was rescheduled to the earlier time. At first it was the same time with our judging but in the end we were comfortable not to have been torn apart. The judge on the Neuter ring was Nadezhda Rumianceva. She said many good words about Marley, mentioning especially good coat quality and good grooming. At the ring Marley got 4th place followed with presents and beautiful cup. It was Marleys debut in neuter class. I should add, that from several judges at the show we heard a question: “Why such a beautiful male was neutered?” – such a question from the judges was the highest score for us itself :)

Bjork and Vasilisa participated in a show of Autumn cats. Bjork presented the colour of autumn sky with her coat.

Then Loiuse Guezennec judged us. All our cats got very good descriptions. Tosha took Nom.BIS from Johnny away – again (because the judge didn’t change her preferences from the previous day). Bjork and Marley were nominated too.

At the final Best Tosha became the best shorthair male again, then won Best In Show and became Best Of Best II! We are very happy with our result! :)

So, the trip was the success! Thanks to the organizers, thanks to our wonderful children, who came and brought their owners, thanks to our amazing boys – great THANKS from us one more time to everybody! :)))
